ICC Chief Prosecutor, naghayag na rin ng pagbahala sa mga nagaganap pagpatay sa Pilipinas

Nagpahayag na rin ng labis na pagkabahala ang International Criminal Court (ICC) kaugnay sa mga naganap na pagpatay sa Pilipinas.

Sa kaniyang statement, sinabi ni ICC Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda, siya ay labis na nababahala lalo pa at may mga pahayag mismo mula sa matataas na opisyal ng bansa na tila ba pinapayagan ang pagpatay.

“I am deeply concerned about these alleged killings and the fact that public statements from high officials of the… Philippines seem to condone such killings,” nakasaad sa statement ni Bensouda.

Sinabi ni Bensouda na mistulang ang matataas na opisyal pa ng pamahalaan ng Pilipinas ang humihikayat sa mga otoridad at sa mga sibilyan na gawin ang pagpaslang.

Sa statement, nagbabala din si Bensouda na maaring mapanagot ng ICC ang sinoman mula sa Pilipinas na mapapatunayang sangkot sa mass violence kabilang ang pag-uutos, paghikayat at pagsasagawa ng krimen.

“Let me be clear: any person in the Philippines who incites or engages in acts of mass violence including by ordering, requesting, encouraging or contributing… to the commission of crimes within the jurisdiction of the ICC is potentially liable for prosecution before the Court,” dagdag pa ng opisyal ng ICC.
