Gamot kontra ‘stroke’ libre na sa 26 na gov’t hospitals
Magiging libre na ang gamot na ibinibigay sa mga nabibiktima ng stroke o ‘brain attack’.
Kasabay ng selebrasyon ng Brain Attack Week, inanunsyo ng Department of Health na hindi na pababayaran sa mga pasyenteng naii-stroke ang gamot na Alteplase, o tissue plasminogen activator sa 26 na pampublikong ospital sa buong bansa.
Ayon kay Dr. Eric Tayag, tagapagsalita ng DOH, ang stroke ang pangalawa sa pinaka ‘common’ na ‘cause of death’ sa bansa.
Sa 2013 Philippine Health Statistics aniya, nasa 6 sa bawat 10,000 katao ang nasasawi sanhi ng ‘brain attack’ o cerebrovascular disease.
Sa pamamagitan aniya ng naturang gamot, mas tataas ang tsansa na makaligtas sa kamatayan o di kaya ay pagka-balda ang isang stroke victim kung maibibigay ito sa loob ng tatlong oras.
Kabilang sa mga ospital na may libreng Alteplase ay ang East Avenue Medical Center, Philippine Heart Center, Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Quirino Memorial Medical Center, Las Piñas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center, Philippine General Hospital, Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center, Mariano Marcos Memorial Medical Center, Cagayan Valley Medical Center.
Southern Isabela General Hospital, Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital, Paulino, J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center, Batangas Medical Center, Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital, Bicol, Medical Center, Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital, Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
Western Visayas Medical Center, Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center, Zamboanga City Medical Center, Cotabato Regional and Medical Center, Northern Mindanao Medical Center, Mayor Hilarion A. Ramiro Sr. Regional and Teaching Hospital at Southern Philippines Medical Center.
Ang mga naturang ospital aniya ay may mga acute stroke units na maaring tumugon sa mga nabibiktima ng stroke.
Nakikipag-ugnayan na rin ang DOH sa mga pribadong ospital upang maging libre na rin sa mga ito ang naturang gamot.
