Pag-amyenda sa Building Code makakatulong sa mabilis na Internet connectivity
Kumpiyansa ang isang research group na malaki ang maititulong ng pag-amyenda sa National Building Code (NBC) para mapabilis ang Internet connectivity sa bansa.
Base sa pahayag ng Stratbase ADR Institute kailangan nang rebisahin ang NBC para makatulong na makamit ang digital transformation sa bansa.
Iginiit na nang mabuo ang NBC noong 1977 ay wala pang Intenet kundi tanging kuryente at tubig lamang ang itinuturing na mahalaga para sa negosyo at kabahayan.
Suhestiyon pa ng grupo na sa pag-amyenda sa NBC ay bigyan na ang internet service providers ng sapat na lugar para magtayo ng fiber optic cables at equipment upang mas mabilis na maka-access sa internet ang mga Pilipino.
“Broadband internet connectivity has emerged as one of the most basic needs in today’s world. It only follows that property development, both in the public and private sectors, should provide the internet service providers access to adequate space to install the necessary fiber optic cables and equipment that would deliver services to tenants and occupants,” ani Stratbase ADR Institute head, Prof. Victor Andres Manhit.
Sa datos ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), 65 porsiyento pa ng populasyon ng bansa ang wala pa ring internet.
At ayon sa Statista Research pagsapit ng 2028 ay tinatayang 77.81 porsiyento pa lamang ng mga Filipino ang may Internet access.
Naaprubahan na sa Kamara ang panukalang pag-amyenda sa NBC.
