Pagpasok ni Digong sa “gentleman’s agreement” sa China, walang bisa – Koko

Kung totoo, hindi maaring kilalanin ang pakikipagkasundo ni dating Pangulong Duterte sa China kaugnay sa agawan ng teritoryo sa West Philippine Sea (WPS), partikular na sa Ayungin Shoal.

Sinabi ito ni Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III sa paliwanag niya na ang anumang “informal agreement” sa pagitan ng isang Filipino, anuman ang kanyang posisyon sa gobyerno, at ibang bansa ay walang bisa.

“Ang gusto kong sabihin, it could be unconstitutional, it could be unlawful but definitely it is void. It is void. Mabuti rin siguro,  this hearing will have a purpose in the sense that all foreign nations monitoring our hearings will get to know that should something like this happen in the future, that is void,” aniya.

Ang pinatutungkulan ni Pimentel ay ang resolusyon na inihain ni Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros na ang layon ay mabusisi ng Senado ang sinasabing “gentleman’s agreement.”

“A single Filipino no matter the position in government cannot bind the country in an informal, unwritten, unrecorded agreement. So-called agreement. That should be the conclusion of the hearing,” sabi pa ng senador.

Dagdag pa niya, hindi niya paniniwalaan na nagkaroon ng “gentleman’s agreement” sa pagitan ni Duterte at China hanggang hindi ito napapatunayan ni dating presidential spokesman Harry Roque.

Si Roque ang unang nagbahagi ukol sa naturang kasunduan na naging hadlang sa dapat na rehabilitasyon ng BRP Sierra Madre na nakasadsad sa Ayungin Shoal.
