In-person classes sa Pasay City suspindido ngayon araw
Sinuspindi ni Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano ang face-to-face classes sa lahat ng antas sa mga pampubliko at pribadong paaralan sa lungsod ngayon araw dahil sa inaasahang mainit na panahon.
Ayon kay Calixto-Rubiano ang kanyang desisyon ay base sa forecast ng Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) na maaring umabot sa 43 degrees Celsius ang heat index sa lungsod ngayon araw ng Miyerkules.
Ang naturang heat index ay pasok na sa “dangerous level” dahil maari itong magdulot ng heat exhaustion at humantong sa heat stroke.
Sa inilabas na executive order ng opisyal, sususpinhin ang in-person classes kapag ang firecast heat index ay mula 42 degrees Celsius pataas.
Inatasan niya ang kanilang City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office na tutukan ang forecast heat index ng PAGASA.
Pinayuhan din niya ang pamunuan ng mga paaralan sa lungsod na iwasan muna ang “outdoor activities.” manatili sa lilim at regular na uminom ng tubig.
