Inaasahan na mababawasan ang pagbiyahe ng mga sasakyan ngayon Semana Santa, binigyan pahintulot ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at isang telecommunications company na magsagawa ng 24-hour road works sa ilang pangunahing lansangan sa Metro Manila.
“The clearance for the 24-hour road works aims to strike a balance between maintaining infrastructure and minimizing disruptions and inconvenience to motorists after the significantly religious holidays,” ani acting MMDAChairman Romando Artes.
Katuwiran ni Artes, ang Semana Santa ang magandang oportunidad sa mga contractor na isagawa ang pagsasaayos ng mga kalsada dahil kokonti ang bilang ng mga bumibiyaheng sasakyan.
Magsisimula ang mga paggawa sa mga kalsada alas-11 ng gabi bukas, Miyerkules Santo hanggang ala-5 ng madaling araw ng Lunes, Abril 1.
