DND may bagong undersecretary

Hinirang ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si retired Brigadier General Cesar Yano bilang undersecretary for operations ng Department of National Defense (DND).

Si Yano, isang miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy class of 1980, ay nanilbihan sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ng tatlumpu’t apat na taon at nagretiro bilang Defense Attaché ng bansa sa Estados Unidos.

Napasakamay ng Pilipinas ang dalawang Hamilton-class high endurance cutters at isang C-130 “Hercules” cargo plane at nakatanggap din ang bansa ng mga bagong kagamitan at supplies para sa military na nagkakahalaga ng 2.8 million dollars (USD 2.8 million) habang si Yano ay nanilbihan bilang Defense Attaché sa Washington.

Ang dalawang Hamilton class cutters ay bininyagang BRP Gregorio del Pilar at BRP Ramon Alcaraz.

Si Yano, na tubong Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte, ay nakababatang kapatid ni General Alexander Yano na dating Chief of Staff ng AFP at Ambassador ng Brunei Darrussalam sa ilalim ng Arroyo administrasyon.
