Huling working day ng Nobyembre, idineklarang “National Bike-To-Work Day”
Idineklara ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang huling working day ng Nobyembre bilang “National Bike-To-Work Day”.
Bahagi ito ng public awareness na gamitin ang pagbibisikleta bilang alternatibong transportasyon sa Pilipinas.
Base sa dalawang pahinang Proclamation 409 na nilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, kaya pinaigting ang public awareness sa paggamit ng bisikleta para maitaguyod na rin ang balance at malusog na ecology at kalusugan ng mamayan, malinis na kapaligiran at mapangalagaan ang kalikasan.
“The Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 underscores the need to develop active transport network, and accord highest priority to pedestrians and cyclists in the hierarchy of road users,” saad ng proklamasyon.
“The post-pandemic ‘New Normal’ requires the adoption of measures to enable safe, independent, physically-distanced travel, especially for essential workers, so that the country is better prepared in the event of another health emergency,” sabi ng prokralamasyon.
Inatasan ni Pangulong Marcos ang Inter-Agency Technical Working Group on Active Transport (IATWG-AT) ng Department of Health (DOH) na pangunahan at mangasiwaan ang “National Bike-to-Work Day.”
Inatasan din ni Pangulong Marcos ang IATWG-AT na tukuyin ang mga programa at aktibidad para sa taunang selebrasyon kasabay ng paghikayat sa public at private sectors na suportahan ang taunang “National Bike-to-Work Day.”
