Isang milyong plaka, kayang gawin ng LTO kada buwan
Nasa isang milyong license plates na ang kayang gawin ngayon ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) kada buwan.
Ayon kay LTO chief Assistant Secretary Attorney Vigor Mendoza, araw-araw nang nagsasagawa ng inspeksyon sa mga stamping plant para masiguro na matutugunan ang backlog sa mga plaka.
“We are now producing one million plates a month. We have dedicated machines that cater only to motor vehicles, and of course, focus din ang production para sa mas maraming backlog sa plaka ng motorsiklo,” pahayag ni Mendoza.
Sa ngayon, nasa 80,000 ang backlog sa mga plaka.
Ginagarantiya ni Mendoza na mayroon nang available na plaka para sa mga bagong sasakyan.
“I have instructed all District Offices, Regional Directors that we should be able to cater to the current demand as far as motor vehicles are concerned. We estimate that the current demand for motor vehicle plates is around 2,000 vehicles a day. So times two dahil front and back ang plaka, so it’s 4,000 a day. We have that capacity, there’s no reason why a buyer who comes to you now will have to wait months in order to get their plates,” pahayag ni Mendoza.
Target ni Mendoza na makuha ang mga plaka sa loob ng pito hanggang 10 araw matapos makapagsumite ng mga kaukulang dokumento.
Una nang nag-order ang LTO ang 15 milyong plaka kung saan walong makita ang gumagana ngayon sa produksyon.
Nasa 13 milyong plaka namana ng baklog para sa mga motorsiklo.
“With the current production rate, we will be able to wipe out the backlog for motorcycles by early 2025. Mas marami kase ito pero we are confident of addressing it, we are on the right track,” pahayag ni Mendoza.
