Infrastructures mahalaga din bukod sa marketing ng turismo – Ejercito
Pinuri ni Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito ang Department of Tourism (DOT) sa masigasig na promosyon para sa industriya ng turismo sa bansa.
Ngunit, ayon kay Ejercito, bukod sa “marketing” kailangan din na matiyak na talagang tatatak sa mga turista ang kanilang masayang karanasan sa pagbisita sa Pilipinas.
“I think you are doing well in promoting the country but probably that’s the half of it. The other half is convenience and it’s an all government approach. For tourism to really thrive, you have to make it convenient for them (tourists) and it’s not just the marketing. We have to improve the infrastructure and connectivity,” ani Ejercito.
Binanggit ito ng senador kay Tourism Sec Esperanza Christina Garcia Frasco sa pagdinig sa P2.99 proposed budget ng kagawaran para sa susunod na taon.
Hinikayat pa niya ang kalihim na gumawa ng kanilang “infrastructure wish list.”
Sinabi naman ni Frasco na may naibunga naman na ang kolaborasyon nila sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at nabanggit niya ang pagpapagawa ng 158 kilometro ng kalsada ngayon taon.
Binanggit din niya na isinusulong nila na makapagpatayo ng tourist emergency centers sa mga kilalang tourism destinations sa susunod na taon.
Umaasa din aniya sila na magkakaroon ng pondo para sa mga bagong “tourism roads” at magpatuloy ang rehabilitasyon sa nagagamit ng mga kalsada sa pamamagitan ng DPWH.
