Produksyon ng livestock at poultry product sa bansa, tataasan sa susunod na limang taon
Target ng Department of Agriculture na taasan ang ng limang beses ang produksyon ng livestock at poultry products sa bansa sa susunod na limang taon.
Ayon kay Agriculture Undersecretary Deogracias Victor Savellano, layunin nito na maibsan ang importasyon ng karne ng manok ng bansa.
Sabi ni Savellano, ito rin ang iiwang legasiya ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos sa bansa.
“This will go along with raising farmers’ profit and lowering farm product prices while ensuring availability of sources of protein for consumers,” pahayag ni Savellano.
Sabi ni Savellano, ang food security ay isang national security na kailangang tutukan ng pamahalaan.
Nabatid na noong 2022, nasa 411.069 milyong kilo ng manok ang inangkat ng Pilipinas.
Kumpiyansa si Savellano na makakamit ang target na ito ng pamahalaan dahil bubuhusan ito ng sapat na suporta at pondo ng DA.
