Land deal ng DENR sa Socorro Bayanihan group, sinuspendi
Sinuspendi na ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources ang kasunduan nito na Protected Area Community-Based Resource Management Agreement (PACBRMA) sa People’s Organization (PO) Socorro Bayanihan Services Incorporated (SBSI).
Ayon kay DENR Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga, iniimbestigahan na ng kanilang hanay kung mayroong paglabag ang grupo sa terms at conditions sa PACBRMA.
Nabatid na ang PACBRMA ay isang legal na kasunduan sa pagitan ng DENR at migrant groups para i-develop at panatilihin ang protected areas sa loob ng 25 taon.
Naging kontrobersiyal grupong Socoroo Bayanihan matapos akusahan na isang kulto at sangkot umano sa pangggahasa sa menor de edad ang ilang miyembro nito.
Bukod dito, sangkot din umano ang grupo sa child marriage.
“The DENR will work with the Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte and other authorities to ensure the smooth and peaceful enforcement of the suspension notice; and the possible resettlement of the occupants,” pahayag ng Loyzaga.
