Diskuwalipikasyon ni Aurora Vice Gov. Noveras idiniin pa ng Comelec

Ikinukunsidera na nabigyan ng hustisya ang pagpatay kay dating Dipaculao, Aurora Vice Mayor Narciso Amansec sa desisyon ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa reklamo ng diskuwalipikasyon laban kay Vice Governor Gerardo Noveras. Ibinasura ng Comelec en banc ang inihaing motion for reconsideration na inihain ng kampo ni Noveras kayat napanindigan ang unang pasya na idiskuwalipika si Noveras. Nagpasya ang Comelec sa kabila ng kabiguan ni Amansec na makadalo sa preliminary hearing noong Nobyembre dahil napatay ito sa pananambang sa kanya at nadamay pa ang ang kanyang maybahay na si Merlinda at driver na si Leonard Calusa. “However, strict adherence to procedural rules should not operate to shackle the Commission’s efforts to deter and punish the egregious disregard of prohibitions under our substantive electoral laws,” ang mababasa sa resolusyon ng Comelec. “As to the material allegation that Noveras committed acts in violation of Section 261(e) of the Omnibus Election Code, the COMELEC en banc ruled that he can be disqualified pursuant to Section 68 thereof for the commission of a fraudulent scheme in indirectly compelling Mr. Tecuico to perform acts beyond the scope of his work in furtherance of his candidacy,” dagdag pa ng Comelec. Magugunita na noong  Abril 26, 2022, kinasuhan ni Amansec si Noveras sa Comelec dahil sa kanyang paggamit ng kanyang posisyon bilang gobernador ng Aurora para magamit ang mga pasilidad at kagamitan ng probinsya para sa kanyang kampanya bilang vice governor sa 2022 national and local elections (NLE). Kumandidato din sa nabanggit na posisyon si Amansec, na personal na nasaksihan ang  pag imprenta ng mga tarpaulin at iba pang mga campaign materials ni Noveras sa loob ng Aurora Training Center compound.
