Idineklara ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang Agosto 8 hanggang 14 kada taon bilang “Philippine Space Week.”
Ito ay para itaguyod ang space awareness sa mga Filipino.
Base sa Proclamation No. 302 na nilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, idineklara ang “Philippine Space Week” kasabay ng pagsasabatas ng Philippine Space Act noong Agosto 8, 2019.
“The proclamation also underscored the importance of the declaration to highlight the substantial influence of space science and technology applications on the socio-economic development of the country,” saad ng proklamasyon.
“There is a need to promote space awareness, celebrate the significant contributions of Filipinos worldwide in the field of space science, and espouse the value, benefits and impacts of space science and technology applications on the lives of Filipinos,” saad ng proklamasyon.
Inaatasan ni Pangulong Marcos ang Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) na itaguyod ang “Philippine Space Week” at maglaan ng mga prograya, proyekto at aktibidad para rito.
Inaatasan din ng Pangulo ang lahat ng tanggapan ng gobyerno pati na ang government-owned or -controlled corporations, state universities and colleges, local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations at pribadong sektor na aktibong makiisa sa “Philippine Space Week.”
