Legarda: Freedom of Information panlaban sa fake news
Susuportahan ni Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda ang anumang hakbang para maging batas ang isinusulong na Freedom of Information (FOI) bill.
Noong 16th at 17th Congress itinulak ni Legarda ang FOI bill, na lumusot sa Senado, ngunit hindi sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso.
“As a former journalist, as a former producer, as an on-cam personality, I research, write, produce, everything. I value information; information is knowledge, ang makakapagpalaya sa atin ay tamang impormasyon,” ani Legarda.
Sinabi nito na malaki ang naitutulong ngayon ng social media dahil naipaparating sa mas maraming tao ang mga impormasyon diin lang din niya napakahirap naman maiwasto na ang kumalat na maling impormasyon.
“Information is knowledge and it should be shared. Any false or wrong information that is shared can destroy,” diin ng senadora.
Una nang hiniling ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., sa lahat ng ahensiya ng gobyerno na itaguyod ang “freedom of information” para sa pinakamabuting interes ng bansa.
