Temporary license sa nursing grads, ilegal – PRC

Hindi pinapayagan ng batas, ayon sa Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), ang pagbibigay ng temporary license sa mga nursing graduate na hindi pa nakakapasa sa Nursing Licensure Examination.

Sinabi ni PRC Commissioner Jose Cueto Jr., na wala silang kapangyarihan o kahit anumang ahensiya ng gobyerno na magbigay ng temporary license.

Ang RA 9173 o ang Philippine Nursing Act of 2002 ang tinukoy ni Cueto kasunod nang anunsiyo ni Health Secretary Ted Herbosa na may plano ang Department of Health (DOH) na bigyan ng trabaho ang mga nursing graduate na nakakuha ng 70 hanggang 74 porsiyentong grado sa board exams.

Pagdidiin ni Cueto hanggang hindi naaamyendahan ang batas, mananatiling 75 porsiyento ang “passing mark” sa nursing board exam at walang dapat mababa sa 60 porsiyento ang grado sa kanilang subjects.

Ang Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) ay nagsabi na kailangan pa ng masusing pag-aaral sa plano ng DOH dahil hindi pa rin malinaw ang magiging trabaho ng mga “under board” nursing graduates.
