Isinampa ng National Police Commission (Napolcom) at ng Philippine National Police (PNP) sa Office of the Ombudsman ang ibat-ibang kasong kriminal laban sa 50 pulis kaugnay sa nasamsam na halos isang tonelada ng shabu noong nakaraang Oktubre.
Ito ang inanunsiyo ni Interior Sec. Benhur Abalos at aniya: “Of these 50 respondents, 48 appeared on the CCTV video and additional two officers had been charged on the basis of conspiracy with the 48.”
Kabilang sa mga isinampang kaso ay paglabag sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, paglabag sa Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, falsification of documents, false testimony, malversation of private property at obstruction of justice.
Kabilang sa mga kinasuhan ay 12 police commissioned officers kasama sina PLtGen. Benjamin Santos Jr., PBGen. Narciso Domingo, at PCol. Julian Olonan.
Dagdag ni Abalos pinag-aaralan na ang pagsasampa ng mga administratibong kaso laban sa 50 pulis at inaasahan na maglalabas ng resolusyon ang Napolcom sa loob ng 15 araw.
Ang mga kaso ay bunsod ng nabunyag na “attempted cover-up” sa naturang ant-drug operation.
