Sec. Sara Duterte sinabing kapos ang pondo para sa DepEd Matatag
Kulang ang ang budget ng Department of Education para matugunan ang lahat ng requirements para makamit ang MATATAG Agenda.
Sa talumpati ni Vice President at Education Sec. Sara Duterte sa paglulunsad ng Partners Convergence sa National Museum of History sa Manila, sinabi nito na ang DepEd ang nakakuha ng pinakalamaking budget sa 2023 General Appropriation national budget.
Nasa P895.2 bilyon ang nakalaan na pondo sa DepEd ngayon taon mula dito, P678.3 bilyon naman ang nakalaan sa basic education.
“However, these national budget allocations for basic education are not enough to cover all the requirements needed in achieving our MATATAG Agenda,” pahayag ni Duterte.
Dagdag pa niya: “Thus, partners and stakeholders who share our commitments are essential to delivering quality, inclusive, adaptive, resilient, and future-ready basic education for our 28 million Filipino learners across the nation.”
Sabi ni Duterte, katuwang ng DepEd ang local government units para sa pagpopondo sa basic education sa pamamagitan ng Special Education Fund or SEF.
Mayroon din naman aniyang Official Development Assistance o ODA sa pamamagitan ng loans o grants mula sa ibat ibang international development partners.
“These partnerships have allowed us to implement innovative programs that have had a positive impact on our education system. These include technical assistance, learning materials and other resources, infrastructure and facilities, capacity building, and systems development, among others,” pahayag ni Duterte.
Nagpapasalamat si Duterte sa pamahalaan ng Amerika sa pamamagitan ng United States Agency for International Development, Australia, Asian Development Bank at iba pa sa pagsuporta sa programang Partners Convergence.
Dadalo rin si Duterte sa Brunei Darussalam at Singapore sa Hunyo bilang presidente ng Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization o SEAMEO.
Inilunsad ng DepEd ang MATATAG Agenda noong Enero na naglalayong tugunan ang kakulangan ng mga guro.
Layunin din ng programa na magtayo ng mga building disaster-resilient schools, pagpapalakas sa literacy at numeracy programs, at pag review sa Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education.
