DOE: Yellow alerts ngayon Mayo posibleng magpapatuloy

Posible na maitaas pa ang yellow alerts sa usapin ng suplay ng kuryente, ayon sa Department of Energy.

Ayon kay Usec. Rowena Guevarra inaasahan na nila ang  “worst-case scenario” dahil hindi gumagana ang Ilijan natural gas plant bunga ng maintenance repairs matapos hindi na masuplayan ng gas mula sa Malampaya natural gas facility.

“We have potential yellow alerts for the entire month of May. Now the way it was computed is yung worst case scenario na, in-assume na namin na wala yung Ilijan. Tapos lahat ng hindi papasok na mga generators, tanggal na rin sa analysis,” aniya.

Napakahalaga aniya ng naturang planta sa Batangas dahil 10 porsiyento ng pangangailangan sa kuryente sa Luzon ay isinusuplay nito.

Inaasahan na sa Mayo 26 pa  magbabalik-operasyyon ang 1,200 MW power facility sa Batangas.

Una na rin inanunsiyo ng DOE na maaring 15 yellow alerts ang itataas ngayon taon dahil sa pagnipis ng suplay ng kuryente.
