Napakahalaga sa lipunan ng Amerika ang ginagampanan ng mga Filipino at Filipino-American.
Ito ang pagsasalarawan ni US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at dagdag niya malaki ang papel na ginagampanan ng mga Filipino sa pagtatatag sa malakas na pondasyon ng kanilang bansa.
Sa talumpati ni Blinken sa dinner na inorganisa ng Philippine Embassy para kay Pangulong Marcos Jr. at sa kanyang delegasyon, sinabi ni Blinken na mahalaga rin ang mga Filipino sa mga pandaigdigang pakikipag-ugnayan.
Halimbawa na ayon kay Blinken so US State of Department Michele Sison na nagsisilbing assistant secretary for international organizations.
Sabi ni Blinken, 70 taon na ang relasyon ng Pilipinas at Amerika base sa nilagdaang arbitral defense at security.
“We pledged our faith on the principles of the United Nations charter. And just last year, thanks to the leadership of President (Joseph) Biden and President Marcos, we have significantly strengthened our alliance. We’ve launched new initiatives together to create economic opportunities for Americans and Filipinos alike. Because last year, trade between our countries was worth more than $25 billion, a new record, and today President Biden announced that he will send the first ever presidential trade and investment mission to the Philippines,” dagdag ni Blinken.
