Agri cooperation pact nabuo sa US visit ni Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Washington, D.C-Nagkasundo ang Pilipinas at Amerika na bumuo ng isang ministerial team on agricultural cooperation.
Ito ay dahil sa nakatuon ang administrasyon ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. na bigyang prayoridad ang food efficiency and security.
Naselyuhan ang naturang kasunduan sa pakikipagpulong dito ni Pangulong Marcos sa US Department of Agriculture officials sa pangunguna ni Sec. Thomas Vilsack.
Ayon sa Pangulo, mahalaga ang naturang pulong dahil may mga bagay sa sektor ng agrikultura na nais nilang ka-partner ang US.
“As we had started to plan our way out of the pandemic economy, even the financial experts, we would talk about the economy, we would talk about the more strictly financial aspects of the development economy, we still keep coming back to agriculture and we cannot do all of the things that we would like to do for our economy if our agriculture is not — there are agricultural system — is not strengthened,” aniya.
Ihinirit ng Pilipinas na palakasin pa ang mga kasunduan para sa agriculture research for development, capacity-building initiatives sa biotechnology agenda, pati na ang pagpapalawak sa market access sa mga produkto ng Pilipinas sa Amerika.
