Tiniyak ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na hindi na mauulit ang krisis sa bigas gaya ng naranasan ng bansa noong 2018 kung saan tumaas ang presyo nito.
Paliwanag ng Pangulo, may tsansa lamang na numipis ang suplay ng bigas dahil sa pagpasok ng lean months sa buwan ng Hulyo.
“There is a chance na ninipis talaga ‘yung supply because nga noong magkasabay-sabay ‘yan,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
“So we are watching and waiting to see what the production levels are going to be after the last planting season before the harvest, for the upcoming harvest and what will be,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Sabi ng Pangulo, wala namang problema sa suplay ng bigay kapag nakapag ani na ang mga magsasaka ng palay.
“So ‘yun ang tinitingnan natin. We may have to import. So that’s — we’re keeping that option open,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
“Basta’t things — all things remain in equal we are — we have enough supply and that we’ll be able to keep the prices stable,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
