Sen. Cynthia Villar tiniyak ang P80-B pondo para sa coco farmers
Nanawagan si Senator Cynthia Villar ng sama-samang pagkilos para sa pag-unlad ng mga magsasaka ng niyog, gayundin ang industriya ng niyog sa bansa.
Ginawa ni Villar ang panawagan sa Agricultural Training Institute (ATI)-Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) Planning Workshop na idinaos sa ATI Compound sa Quezon City kamakailan.
Binanggit ni Villar ang Republic Act No. 11524, o “Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund Act” na nilagdaan ni dating Pangulong Duterte noong Pebrero 26, 2021, at naging epektibo makalipas ang dalawang buwan.
Sa ilalim nito, binuo ang Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund (CFITF) upang siguruhin ang P80 bilyong pondo sa limang taon at mapapakinabangan ng 2.5 milyong coconut farmers at ng industriya ng niyog.
“The former President said that this law is a historic “gamechanger” that will pave the way to modernizing and industrializing the Philippine coconut sector,” sabi ni Villar sabay dagdag: “The law also mandated for the preparation of the CFIDP, which shall set the directions and policies for the development and rehabilitation of the coconut industry within 50 years.”
