‘Con-con’ para sa ‘Cha cha’ lusot na sa Kamara

Naaprubahan na sa third at final reading sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang panukalang batas na layon maamyendahan ang 1987 Constitution.

Ang isinusulong na Charter change o Cha-cha ay idadaan sa constitutional convention (con-con).

Nabatid na 301 ang pumabor sa Resolution of Both Houses 6, may anim na bumoto ng ‘No,’ at may isang abstention.

Ayon kay Speaker Martin Romualdez, na isa sa mga pangunahing awtor ng panukala, layon nila na limitahan ang pag-amyenda sa Saligang Batas sa mga ‘economic provisions’ para makapanghikayat ng mga banyagang mamumuhunan sa bansa.

““We need additional investments that would create more job and income opportunities for our people. We need increased capital to sustain our economic growth momentum,” ani Romualdez.

Ang iba pang awtor ay sina Majority Leader Manuel Jose  Dalipe, Camarines Sur Rep. LRay Villafuerte,  Kapatiran Party, at Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez, the chair of the House
Committee on Constitutional Amendments.
