No backlog, no congestion sa lahat ng PPA ports
Tiniyak ng Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) na walang ‘backlog’ at ‘congestion’ sa lahat ng pinangangasiwaan nilang daungan sa bansa sa pagpasok ng 2023.
Ibinahagi ni PPA General Manager Jay Santiago na kumpara noong nakaraang taon, hanggang noong Enero ang yard utilization rate sa Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) ay 80.75%, mas mataas ng 9.1% noong Enero, 2022.
Samantalang, sa South Harbor naman ay 67.80% na mababa ng 0.3% kumpara sa naitala sa katulad na panahon noong nakaraang taon.
Hanggang noong Martes, Pebrero 14, ang yard utilization rate sa MICT ay 54.65% at 58.12% naman sa South Harbor mas mababa sa naitala noong Disyembre na 78% at 68%.
Sa kabila nito, ayon kay Santiago, mataas pa rin ang ‘container traffic’ sa MICT at South Harbor.
“As much as possible, we try to accommodate them in PPA terminals, but we can not accommodate them all, we can only accommodate empty containers x number of days before ship out dahil kung hindi po, mapupuno naman yung terminal natin ng puro empty container more than laden container or yung mga may laman npo, yung papasok pa lamang,” paliwanag pa ng opisyal.
