OFW deployment ban sa Kuwait hindi pa ikinukunsidera

Sa kabila nang pagkamatay na isang Filipina domestic service worker sa Kuwait, hindi pa ikinukunsidera ng Deparment of Migrant Workers (DMW) ang pagpapatupad muli ng deployment ban ng overseas Filipino workers (OFW) sa naturang bansa.

Sinabi ni Sec. Susan Ople ang kanilang tinitingnan ay ang pagdaragdag pa ng ‘safeguards’ para matiyak ang kaligtasan ng OFWs sa Kuwait.

“Ang nakikita namin on the ground, mabilis umaksyon ang Kuwaiti government,” ayon sa kalihim.

Dagdag pa ni Ople: “So no, we’re not contemplating suspension of deployment to Kuwait, but yes, we are looking at additional safeguards and reforms to make sure workers bound for Kuwait are better protected.”

Pagtitiyak nito na ibibigay ang lahat ng kinakailangan na tulong sa mga naulila ni Jullebee Ranara tulad ng insurance at scholarships sa mga anak nito.

Minamadali na rin aniya ang pagpapabalik ng mga labi ng buntis na si Ranara, na sinasabing ginahasa, pinatay, bago itinapon sa disyerto ang kanyang sinunog na bangkay.
