Sovereign wealth fund tatalakayin ni Pangulong Marcos sa Switzerland
Ididiga ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa World Economic Forum sa Davos, Switzerland ang usapin sa sovereign wealth fund.
Sa pre-departure briefing sa Malakanyang, sinabi ni Foreign Affairs Underscretary Carlos Sorreta, soft launch ang gagawin ng Pangulo sa sovereign wealth fund.
Dadalo ang Pangulo sa WEF na gaganapon sa Enero 16 hanggang 20.
Ayon kay Sorreta, ipakikilala lamang ng Pangulo sa world leaders ang sovereign wealth fund.
Ideya aniya ni Pangulong Marcos na idiga sa WEF ang sovereign wealth fund para mapalawak ang investible funds ng state-run financial institutions.
Tiyak din kasi aniyang tataas ang public funds para magamit sa nation-building.
“At the briefing this morning, the President said that we are developing all these excellent fundamentals, and there’s much that we can offer investors, and he said “You know, let’s talk about the Sovereign Wealth Fund that’s being set up.” And I agree completely with the President, the World Economic Forum is a great venue to do sort of soft launch for our Sovereign Wealth Fund given the prominence of the forum itself, and global and business leaders will be there, and they will hear it directly from the President what fundamentals that we have, and that lead us to decide that we should have a Sovereign Wealth Fund. So, that’s one of the things we’re preparing for Davos.orreta said global and business leaders would directly hear from Marcos the fundamentals about the sovereign wealth fund,” pahayag ni Sorreta.
Paglilinaw ni Sorreta, hindi full kundi soft launching lamang ang gagawin ng Pangulo.
Patuloy aniyang kinikilala at nirerespeto ng Pangulo ang congressional process sa Pilipinas.
Sa ngayon, inaprubahan na ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang panukalang batas na magtatag ng Maharlika Investment Fund o sovereign wealth fund.
“It’s really more of a soft launch, it’s to introduce it. I understand it is evolving, we have the fullest respect for the Congressional process, and the open hearings that they’re having, and how to work out the details but the broad strokes with the President have a very, very good grasp of what he wants to achieve, whatever form the Sovereign Wealth Fund finally takes. What’s very important is it’s an investment in the future, and there’s great confidence the President has in the ability, and capabilities of Filipino entrepreneurs, and local investors even. So, it’s a very soft launch, so don’t say he’s launching Sovereign Wealth Fund in Davos. People do this all the time in fora like this,” pahayag ni Sorreta.
Sa ilalim ng panukala, maglalaan ng P50 bilyong pondo ang Landbank of the Philippines, P25 bilyon mula sa Development Bank of the Philippines at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
Ibibida rin aniya ng Pangulo sa world stage kung ano ang ginagawa ng Pilipinas sa usapin ng pagnenegosyo.
Ipakikita aniya ng Pangulo sa mga dayuhang lider at mamumuhunan na kaakit-akit na ang Pilipinas para paglagakan ng negosyo.
