Umaasa si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na huhupa na ang tensyon sa West Philippine Sea.

Ito ay matapos ang pakikipagpulong ni Pangulong Marcos kay Chinese President Xi Jinping sa kanyang state visit sa China.

Umaasa ang Pangulo na mababawasan na rin ang insidente ng harassment ng Chinese Coast Guard sa mga Filipinong mangingisda na pumapalaot sa West Philippine Sea.

“Well, that’s entirely the point of having the bilateral team — that is continuing to discuss but as I said, I wanted to raise the level of discussion to maybe a ministerial level and that and with a direct access to both presidents. Kaya’t — the intention of course is to minimize all of these “incidents.” Siyempre, ‘yung report nila naiba doon sa report natin. But hindi bale, let’s just call it an incident and sana mabawasan na ‘yun. I think it will, definitely,” pahayag ng Pangulo.

“Because when lines of communication are open at mabilis makapag-decision si President Xi, makapag-decision ako kaagad, palagay ko marami tayong mababawasan diyan sa mga problemang nakikita natin ngayon,” pahayag ng Pangulo.

Sinabi pa ng Pangulo na maganda na ang mga miyembro ng bilateral teams ay may direktang access sa heads of state.

Pagtitiyak ng Pangulo na ang kanyang itatalagang miyembro ng bilateral team ay may direktang koneksyon sa kanya.
