44 milyong doses ng COVID-19, nasayang

Aabot sa 44 milyong doses ng COVID-19 ang nasayang matapos mag-expire at operational wastage.

Ayon kay Department of Health (DOH) officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire, 24 milyon doses ang nag-expire habang 3.6 milyon ang nasayang dahil sa operational wastage dulot ng natural na mga kalamidad, temperature excursion, at discoloration.

Inaalam pa ng DOH ang dahilan ng pagkasira ng 5 porsyento ng 44 milyon doses.

Ayon kay Vergeire, ang 44 milyong doses ng bakuna ay 17.5 percent ng kabuuang bakuna na natangngap ng Pilipinas.

Sinabi pa ng opisyal na 75 porsyento sa mga nasayang na bakuna ay binili ng pribadong sektor at ng local government units.

Nasa 4 porsento lamang sa mga nasayang nabakunaang galingsa donasyon at 2 porsyento ang galing sa national government procurement.
