Tamang labeling sa sa Christmas toys inihirit ng pro-enviroment group
Pinuna ng EcoWaste Coalition ang patuloy na hindi pagsunod ng mga gumagawa ng mga laruan sa batas ukol sa mandatory toy labeling para sa kaligtasan ng mga konsyumer, partikular na ng mga bata.
Ginawa ito ng grupo dahil Kapaskuhan muli at bumabaha na naman ng mga laruan sa mga merkado.
Pinansin din ng kakulangan sa bahagi ng gobyerno sa pagpapatupad naman ng mga batas.
“Manufacturers, importers, and distributors who continue to ignore the required labeling requirements for toys are depriving consumers of an essential tool they can use in choosing appropriate products that are trustworthy, of good quality, and pose no health risks,”ani EcoWaste Coalition national coordinator Aileen Lucero.
Nabanggit nito na noong nakaraang linggo, bumili ang grupo ng 25 laruan sa mga lehitimong establismento at nadiskubre na ang lahat ay hindi sumunod sa toy labeling requirements.
Ito ay sa kabila nang promulgasyon ng implementing rules and regulation (IRR) ng RA 10620 o ang Toy and Game Safety Labeling Act noong 2019.
