Pagpapasuot ng PPEs sa OFWs sa airport ikinadismaya ni Sen. Pia Cayetano

Labis-labis na nahabag si Senator Pia Cayetano sa mga paalis na overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) na personal niyang nakita na nakasuot ng kumpletong personal protective equipment (PPE) sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal3.

Bunga nito, hiniling ni Cayetano na alamin ng Senado ang dahilan ng pagpapasuot ng PPEs sa OFWs.

“Its like the height of ridiculousness that you have to wear those footsies because they are walk around the whole airport where thousands of people enter, walk around everyday. So there is nothing hygienic about being in footsies, as opposed to being in their regular rubber shoes or walking shoes,” pagdidiin ng senadora.

Tanong nito kung may nag-oobliga sa mga OFWs na magsuot ng PPE’s bilang travel requirement kayat nais niyang maimbestigahan ito sa Senado.

Naniniwala si Cayetano na ito ay isang uri ng diskriminasyon at aniya wala siyang nalalaman na mga bansa na inoobliga ang pumapasok sa kanilang mga banyaga na magsuot ng PPEs.

“I hope we can help out our OFWs so that they won’t have to pay extra to travel for work, and they don’t have to travel in this kind of discomfort,” dagdag pa nito.
