Aabot sa P1 trilyon ang inilaang pondo ng Department of Budget and Management para sa local government units sa taong 2023.
Ayon kay Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, ito ay para makamit ng LGUs ang inclusive at sustainable economic prosperity ng bansa.
“With a total allocation of Php962.2 billion for LGUs, we aim to strengthen our efforts in capacitating and empowering them to autonomously deliver essential services to their constituents,” pahayag ng Budget Chief.
Ang naturang halaga ay kumakatawan ng 18.3 porsyento sa kabuuang P5.268 trilyong proposed national budget para sa susunod taon.
Sa naturang halaga, P820.27 bilyon ang nakalaan para sa National Tax Allotment, base na rin ng isinasaad sa Mandanas-Garcia Supreme Court ruling.
Aabot sa P28.88 bilyon naman ang nakalaan sa Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) na P10.91 bilyong mataas kumpara sa P17.97 bilyon sa taong 2022.
