Matapos ang madugong insidente sa Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), sinabi ng pambansang pulisya na palalakasin pa nila ang pakikipag-dayalogo sa pamunuan ng mga paaralan.
Ayon kay PNP officer-in-charge, Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., ito ay para mapalakas din ang seguridad sa mga institusyon ng edukasyon upang maiwasan ang mga krimen at karahasan.
“We plan to have a dialogue with various stakeholders, especially in schools. We will present our detailed security plans for the opening of classes and how to strictly implement procedures against unauthorized persons,” ani Danao.
Sinabi pa nito na tatalima sila sa panawagan ni Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte na palawigin ang kaalaman ukol sa mga karahasan sa paggamit ng baril.
Samantala, pinuri ni Danao ang maagap na pagresponde ng mga pulis kaya’t naaresto agad si Dr. Chao Tiao Yumul, ang itinuturong pumatay kina dating Lamitan, Basilan Mayor Rose Furigay, sa kanyang assistant na si Victor George Capistrano at guwardiyang si Jeneven Bandiala.
