‘Ateneo killer’ inasunto sa pagpatay sa ex-Lamitan mayor, 2 pa
Naghain ng three counts of murder ang Philippine National Police (PNP) laban sa doktor na itinuturong responsable sa pagpatay kay dating Lamitan, Basilan Mayor Rose Furigay at sa dalawang iba pa noong nakaraang araw ng Linggo sa loob ng Ateneo de Manila University – Loyola campus.
Sinabi ni PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo na sinampahan din ng mga kasong frustrated murder at paglabag sa Republic Act 10591 si Dr. Chao Tiao Yumul sa Quezon City Prosecutors Office.
Paliwanag ni Fajardo, ang kaso kaugnay sa Republic Act 10591 ay dahil sa ‘loose firearm’ na nakumpiska kay Yumul.
Ang Quezon City Police District (QCPD) ay naghain naman ng carnapping case laban kay Yumul.
Magugunitang bukod kay Furigay, nasawi rin sa pamamaril ang kanyang aide na si Victor George Capistrano at ang Ateneo security officer na si Jeneven Bandiala.
Nasugatan naman ang anak ni Furigay na si Hannah, na kabilang sa graduates ng Ateneo Law School.
Sa ngayon, nakakulong si Yumul sa Camp Caringal.
