P15-M halaga ng smuggled agricultural products, nasamsam sa Misamis Oriental

Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC), sa tulon ng Port of Cagayan de Oro at Intelligence Group, ang limang kargamento na naglalaman ng smuggled agricultural products sa Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental araw ng Huwebes (Hulyo 7).

Resulta ito ng ikinasang physical examination sa naturang kargamento sa Mindanao International Container Terminal Services Inc. (MICTSI) yard sa PHIVIDEC Compound.

Naka-consign ang kargamento sa Primex Export and Import Producer at unang idineklara na naglalaman ng “Autolysed Yeast in Powder Form”.

Dumating ang mga kargamentong nagmula sa China noong Hulyo 2.

Noong Hulyo 4, naglabas si District Collector Atty. Elvira Cruz ng Pre-Lodgement Control Orders (PLCOs) laban sa mga kargamento kasunod ng hiling ng CIIS CDO Field Station matapos makatanggap ng derogatory information mula sa Intelligence Division-Intelligence Group.

Sa halip na “Autolysed Yeast in Powder Form,” tumambad sa mga awtoridad ang mga pula at puting sibuyas, at carrots na tinatayang nagkakahalaga ng P15 milyon.

Ayon sa BOC, malinaw na paglabag ito sa Republic Act 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act dahil sa misdeclaration ng mga produkto.
