P40.10-M halaga ng tobacco products, nasamsam ng BOC
Kasabay ng mahigpit na border protection efforts, nasamsam ng Bureau of Customs – Port of Subic ang isang kargamento na naglalaman ng iba’t ibang tobacco products noong Hunyo 22.
Nagmula ang kargamentong nagkakahalaga ng P40.10 milyon sa bansang China.
Naglabas si District Collector Maritess Martin ng Pre-Lodgment Control Order kasunod ng rekomendasyon ng hepe ng Customs Investigation and Intelligence Service-Field Station dahil sa posibleng paglabag sa National Tobacco Administration (NTA) Memorandum Circular No. 03 Series of 2004 at NTA Board Resolution No. 079-2005, na may kinalaman sa Section 1113 (f) ng Republic Act No. 10863 o Customs Modernization Tariff Act (CMTA).
Lumabas sa isinagawang physical examination at mas malalim na imbestigasyon na walang Import Clearance, Authority to Import, Authority to Transship Tobacco Products at Transshipment Commodity Clearance Inbound ang kargamento.
Ani Martin, mahalagang kumpleto sa mga permit at clearance ang kargamento bago ang importasyon.
Tiniyak nito sa publiko na patuloy nilang hihigpitan ang border protection efforts sa nasabing pantalan upang hindi makapasok ang mga ilegal na produkto sa bansa.
