Umabot sa higit P108.67 milyong halaga ng kumpiskadong marijuana ang sinira ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) sa isang pasilidad sa Bacnotan, La Union.
Nabatid na P29.3 milyong halaga ng marijuana na nakumpiska ng PDEA Regional Office 1 at P79.3 milyon halaga ng droga nakumpiska ng PDEA – Cordillera Office ang sumailalim sa ‘thermal destruction’ sa Geocycle facility ng Holcim Phils. Inc.
Nagsilbing panauhing-pandangal si Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong at kabilang naman sa mga dumalo sina Judge Mervin Jovito Samadan ng Dagupan City RTC; Atty. Cris AlvinTadeo, ng DOJ – Region 1; Atty. Gilbert Hufana, PAO at mga kinatawan ng ibat-ibang sektor.
Pinasalamatan ni RD Ronald Ricardo ang ibat-ibang korte dahil sa mabilis na prosekusyon at disposisyon ng mga drug-cases.
Ang pagwasak ng mga droga ay alinsunod sa Republic Act 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
