E-sabong sa Biyernes Santos, Semana Santa binastos! – Sen. Francis Tolentino
Sa pagpapatuloy ng pagdinig sa Senado sa pagkawala ng higit 30 sabungero, ibinunyag ni Senator Francis Tolentino na kahit noong nakaraang Biyernes Santo ay nagpatuloy ang operasyon ng online sabong.
Bunga nito, binatikos ni Tolentino ang Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor) dahil sa nangyaring pambabastos sa tradisyon at kulturan ng bansa.
Aniya siya mismo ang nakakita sa isang live online sabong noong nakaraang Biyernes Santo.
“There was a gross violation of our faith. I don’t know why it was done. Probably Pagcor slept on its job. Pagcor probably forgot that they are supposed to regulate as they claimed they are regulating,” diin ni Tolentino sa pagdinig ng Committee on Public Order, na pinamumunuan ni Sen. Ronald dela Rosa.
Dagdag puna pa ng senador, sarado noong nakaraang Biyernes Santo ang lahat ng mga Pagcor casino bilang pag-obserba sa banal na araw kayat ipinagtataka niya na nagpatuloy naman ang online sabong.
“There should be a semblance of respect for our religious traditons and I ask Pagcor why this happen,” sabi pa ni Tolentino.
