Inanunsiyo ng Meralco ang muling pagtaas ng singil sa kuryente ngayon buwan.
Ang pagtaas ay dahil sa mataas na generation cost.
Sa mga kabayahan tataas ng P0.5363 per kilowatt hour ang madadagdag, mula P9.6467 ay magiging P10.1830 na ang halaga ng per kilowatt hour o kabuuang dagdag na P107 sa mga nakakakonsumo ng 200 kwh.
Sinabi ni Atty. Jose Ronald Valles, ng Meralco Regulatory Management Office, tumaas ng P5.8724 per kilowatt hour ang singil ng independent power producers (IPPs) at Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
Inaasahan ang pagtaas pa rin ng halaga ng kuryente sa mga susunod na buwan.
