Ayon kay Maritime law expert Jay Batongbacal, director ng University of the Philippines (UP) Institute of Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea, patuloy na nagsasagawa ng ‘shadowing’ ang Chinese coast guard vessel CCG 5203 sa RV Legend base na rin sa screenshot ng interface ng Marine Traffic website.
Patungong north-northeast ang dalawang barko na nasa 65 nautical miles (120 kilometers) off ng Pangasinan.
Ayon kay Batongbacal, walang karapatan ang CCG 5203 na pakialaman ang aktibidad sa lugar.
