Nakatuon na ang atensyon ng pambansang pulisya para sa ligtas na paggunita ng Semana Santa.
Ito ang inanunsiyo ni PNP Chief Dionardo Carlos at kabilang aniya dito ang ligtas na pagbiyahe sa pagluwag ng travel restrictions sa gitna nang nagpapatuloy na pandemya dulot ng COVID 19.
“Ahead of the traditional Holy Week retreat next week that is the highlight of the three-month summer vacation season, the PNP is directing focus to public safety and enhanced law enforcement operations to ensure safe and secure national observance of the Holy Week,” sabi ng hepe ng pambansang pulisya.
Kasama din sa kanilang pinaigting na presensiya at pagpapatrulya ay ang mga komunidad ng mga Muslim na ginugunita naman ang Ramadhan.
Inaasahan na rin ng PNP ang pagdami ng mga tao sa mga public transport terminals, airports at seaports.
Binanggit din ni Carlos na magtatalaga sila ng police assistance centers at road safety marshalls sa mga pangunahing lansangan para umasiste sa mga motorista.
“So pagdating naman doon sa convergence, yan mga public places, mga terminals, definitely na-establish na natin yung police assistance desks or police assistance centers para may presence kaagad ng pulis so we can immediately patrol, react kung kailangan,” dagdag pa ng opisyal.
