Naging generally peaceful ang unang araw ng campaign period ng mga lokal na kandidato sa Central Luzon.

Ayon kay Police Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, hepe ng Police Regional Office 3, walang naitalang untoward incident sa rehiyon.

“We hope that from the start of the local campaign period up to its last day on May 7, there will be no unfortunate events that would take place,” saad nito.

Ipagpapatuloy aniya ang pagpapatupad ng security measures na may kinalaman sa 2022 National and Local Elections tulad ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) at law enforcement checkpoints, Oplan Sita at Simulation Exercises.

“Your police and other partner agencies are doing the best we can so that we could provide the best security coverage and ensure safe, orderly, honest and peaceful elections on May 9 as we are committed to uphold the sovereign will of the voting public,” dagdag ni Baccay.
