P45-M halaga ng ukay-ukay at iba pang pekeng produkto, nasamsam sa Parañaque
Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang mahigit P45 milyong halaga ng ukay-ukay at mga pekeng produkto sa Baltao, Parañaque.
Naglabas ng Letter of Authority (LOA) at Mission Order laban sa mga may-ari, representante ng imported goods na nakaimbak sa naturang lugar.
Sa inisyal na imbestigasyon, nadiskubre ang 3,300 bales ng ukay-ukat sa iba pang pekeng produkto na may tatak na Crocs, Adidas, Nike, at iba pa.
Nagkakahalaga ng P25 milyon ang ukay-ukay, habang P15 hanggang P20 milyon ang estimated value ng mga pekeng produkto.
Kinandado ang mga warehouse habang hinihintay ang pagsasagawa ng inventory sa mga kontrabando.
Isasailalim ang mga kontrabando sa seizure at forfeiture proceedings dahil sa paglabag sa Section 118 ng Republic Act 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act na may kinalaman sa Republic Act 8293 o Intellectual Property Code of 1997 at Republic Act 4653 o Act Prohibiting the Commercial Importation of Textile Articles Commonly Known as Used Clothing and Rags.
