PAGASA idineklara na ang simula ng ‘dry and warm season’
Asahan na ang mainit na panahon sa mga darating na linggo matapos ideklara ng PAGASA na opisyal ng nagsimula ang ‘dry season’ sa bansa.
Sinabi ni PAGASA Administrator Vicente Malano sa pagtatapos ng northeast monsoon o ‘amihan’ ay magsisimula na ang mainit na panahon sa bans
“The recent analysis indicate retreat of the high pressure area (HPA) over Siberia, thereby weakening the associated northeasterly winds and decreasing sea level pressure in the country,” ang pahayag ni Malano na inilabas ng PAGASA.
Dagdag pa nito; “ Moreover, the wind pattern has generally shifted from northeasterlies to easterlies over most parts of the country as a result of the advancing HPA over the northwestern Pacific. These signify the termination of the northeast monsoon (amihan) and the start of the dry season and warmer condition.”
Aniya ang pag-ulan na mararanasan sa ibat-ibang bahagi ng bansa ay matatawag na ‘localized thunderstorms.’
Kasabay nito, pinayuhan niya ang publiko na mag-ingat at iwasan ang heat stress, gayundin ang pagtitipid ng tubig.
Sa abiso ng PAGASA, manatili sa loob ng bahay at magsuot ng mga ‘lightweight and lightcolored’ na mga damit palaging uminom ng tubig para mapanatili ang mababang temperature ng katawan.
Iwasan din ang pag-inom ng mga nakakalasing na inumin at kung magagawa naman ay ‘light meals’ lamang ang gawin at bawasan ang pagkain ng mga mayaman sa protina.
