Saidamen Pangarungan, nanumpa na bilang bagong Comelec chairman

Nanumpa na bilang bagong chairman ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) si National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretary Saidamen Pangarungan.

Nanumpa si Pangarungan sa bagong posisyon kasama si Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, araw ng Martes (March 8).

Epektibo ang appointment ni Pangarungan nang pitong taon hanggang February 2, 2029.

Si Pangarungan ay isang abogado at nagsilbi bilang gobernador ng Lanao del Sur mula 1988 hanggang 1992.

Matatandaang itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Pangarungan bilang secretary ng NCMF noong July 9, 2018.

Sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Pangarungan sa NCMF, nabigyan ang ahensya ng ISO certification.
