Council of the Laity si VP Leni Robredo ang kandidato sa presidential race
Inendorso ng pamunuan ng Council of the Laity of the Philippine (CLP) ang kandidatura sa pagka-pangulo ni Vice President Leni Robredo.
Ayon naman sa Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) ito ang kauna-unahang pagkakataon na hayagan ang pagsuporta ng CLP sa isang kandidato.
“With our current political-economic turmoil and the pandemic situation in the Philippines, we firmly believe that Vice President Leni Robredo, a God-fearing person, is the most capable candidate for the presidency, and we urge our constituents, if possible, to consider the same,” ang laman ng sulat ng CLP.
“Hence, we explicitly endorse Vice President Leni Robredo to the highest position of our land,” ayon pa sa sulat na may petsang Pebrero 5 ngunit isinapubliko lamang noong nakaraang araw.
Nabatid na 11 sa 15 opisyal ng CLP ang nag-endorso kay Robredo, tatlo ang hindi bumoto, samantalang may isa na absent.
“In an unprecedented move, the leadership of the Council of the Laity of the Philippines has endorsed a presidential candidate in the person of Vice President Leni Robredo,” ang pahayag naman ng CBCP.
