‘No El’ nakikita ni Sen. Leila de Lima sa petisyon ng PDP – Laban sa Comelec
Nagpahayag ng pangamba si Senator Leila de Lima uko sa inihaing petisyon ng PDP-Laban sa Commission on Election (Comelec) na buksan muli ang paghahain ng certificates of candidacy (COCs) sa lahat ng posisyon kaugnay sa papalapit na eleksyon.
Aniya maaring magbigay daan ang petisyon ng kampo ni Energy Sec. Alfonso Cusi sa ‘no election scenario’ ngayon taon.
“The so-called dominant majority party, but without standard bearer candidates for President and Vice President, is basically asking for the exclusive privilege to be exempted from the deadline for filing COCs, after all candidates serious enough to run for election in 2022 have dutifully filed their COCs within the deadline set by the COMELEC,” sabi pa ng senadora.
Diin ni de Lima wala dapat ‘exemptions’ sa deadline ng paghahain ng COC kahit ang partido pa ng pangulo ng bansa.
Ikinatuwiran din sa petisyon na hindi dapat mag-imprenta ng mga balota dahil may mga nakabinbing kaso ang ilang kandidato at partylist groups.
Ayon sa kampo ni Cusi hanggang hindi nareresolba ang mga kaso, hindi dapat ituloy ang pag-imprenta ng mga balota.
Sabi naman ni de Lima, kung pagbibigyan ang hiling nina Cusi, walang balota ang posibleng maimprenta para sa araw ng halalan sa darating na Mayo.
