70-percent passenger capacity sa rail lines, mananatili – DOTr

Siniguro ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa istriktong pagpapatupad ng health protocols sa mga rail line at rail facility.

Kasunod ito ng pagkakalagay sa Alert Level 3 ng Metro Manila dahil sa pagtaas ng kaso ng COVID-19.

Ayon kay Transportation Secretary Art Tugade, layon ng mahigpit na health measures na maiwasan ang pagkalat ng virus.

Aniya, mananatili pa rin ang pagpapatupad ng 70 porsyentong passenger capacity sa lahat ng rail lines.

“This is to avoid the ‘bottlenecking’ or crowding of passengers at stations, which may increase the risk of virus transmission,” paliwanag ng kalihim.

Anumang pagbabago sa passenger capacity sa rail lines at iba pang pampublikong transportasyon ay magdedepende sa abiso ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

Bilang parte ng mahigpit na implementasyon ng health measures, nagsasagawa ng random antigen testing nang may pahintulot ng mga pasahero.

Ani Transportation Undersecretary for Railways TJ Batan, makatutulong ang random antigen testing upang masukat ng ahensya ang lebel ng presensya ng nakahahawang sakit sa rail lines.

Maliban sa random antigen testing sa mga pasahero, magtatalaga rin ng train marshals sa loob ng mga tren at istasyon.

Ipinag-utos din ni Tugade ng regular disinfection sa mga tren, platform, istasyon at depot.
