‘Omicron wave’ dumating na sa Pilipinas – COVID 19 treatment czar
Sinabi ni Health Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega na posible na sa susunod na tatlo hanggang apat na linggo, mauungusan na ng Omicron at Delta bilang dominanteng COVID 19 variant sa bansa.
Ngunit, ayon sa treatment czar, sa ngayon ang Delta variant pa rin ang dominante sa bansa.
“I think in about three to four weeks, as predicted, the Omicron will be dominant in terms of 50% or 90% of the cases, overtaking the Delta virus, but the Delta virus definitely still around with us,” sabi pa nito.
Kasabay nito, sinabi pa ni Vega na sa mabilis na pagdami ng mga kaso sa mga nakilipas na araw, tila nararanasan na sa bansa ang ‘Omicron wave.’
“Well, it looks like the Omicron wave is upon us. And we’ve seen this globally across South Africa and Europe and there has been a steady increase in our landscape here in the Philippines in terms of the Omicron. This the start and we are very sure that this will peak,” sabi pa nito.
Pagtitiyak naman niya na nakahanda na ang gobyerno sa maaring pagkalat ng Omicron variant.
