Ilang senador ipinagtaka ang hindi na pagpapalabas ng DOH ng COVID 19 daily bulletins

Misteryo para sa ilang senador ang anunsiyo ng Department of Health (DOH) na hindi na pagpapalabas ng daily bulleting ukol sa mga kaso ng COVID 19 sa bansa. Duda ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III maaring may ‘hidden agenda’ sa naturang desisyon. Sinabi naman ni Sen. Francis Pangilinan napakahalaga ng ‘accurate updates’ para mapigilan ang pagkalat pa ng nakakamatay na sakit. Sa ganitong paraan aniya nalalaman kung epektibo ang mga ginagawang hakbang. “Daily bulletins are necessary means of providing accurate, timely information to the public at large,” aniya. Ayon naman kay Sen. Joel Villanueva ang daily bulletin ang isa sa mga nagsisilbing paalala sa publiko na palaging mag-ingat. “’These daily COVID bulletins are a reminder to the public that the problem is not yet over and that we must continue to be careful and practice safety protocols,” sabi pa nito. Para naman kay dating Sen. JV Ejercito, ‘wrong timing’ sa bahagi ng DOH ang desisyon dahil natapat pa sa paggunita ng Kapaskuhan ang pagdami muli ng mga kaso at marami ng bansa ang nakakaranas ng pagsirit ng bilang ng mga nahawa ng Omicron variant ng sakit. “All the more it is imperative that the number of cases and the situation should be closely monitored. Complacency will be disastrous in dealing with this pandemic. Positivity rate should be maintained at below 5 percent and so monitoring is very important,” diin ni Ejercito.
